People supporting YOU
Both directors Ewa and Derrick have over 30 years of combined experience in the care setting, working their way up from the bottom. Hard work, continuous development, passion, empathy, family approach to the residents and colleagues help them create the place that so many call HOME.
They are actively involved with everyday life of Holly Cottage offering support and company for everyone. Open door policy is not only for staff members but also for residents and their loved ones.
A lot of time and effort is dedicated to staff and their training to deliver the best possible care for those who use the service. Most of carers have nursing experience but the enhanced induction training is fully delivered on one-to-one basis regardless of previous qualifications and experiences. This is to ensure good understanding of over 50 topics where each is personalised for the residents. Person-centre approach, dignity and independence are key in delivering a high level of care and wellbeing. These qualities are only achieved through well established relationships resulting in trust and knowing the resident’s well to meet their complex needs. For that reason, Holly Cottage never used Agency Staff and provides professional care, stability and reassurance through devoted carers working exclusively for Holly Cottage.

Visitors
We encourage family and friends to visit their loved ones as often as they are able to. We have an open-door policy for visitors. Prior notice of the visit is preferable (although not essential), which will enable to plan the resident’s day more effectively.
